There are so many things going on lately–and consequently so many things to post about–that I’ve become a bit blocked when it comes to getting back to blogging. It’s been nice to take a little break for traveling, moving, and acquainting myself with a new home and routine, but now where to begin? It’s completely self-imposed (right?) but it feels like, after stepping away for so long, my first post has to be something really phenomenal. So this is my attempt at dissipating that: Antelope Canyon. Because what is more phenomenal than this slot canyon?
Aron and I went on a road trip one April, many years ago (maybe 2002?), and detoured through Navajo lands near Page, Arizona, to visit the Antelope Slot Canyon–a narrow canyon formed within eroded Sandstone. Once sliding through a crevice just barely wider than our shoulders, the floor opened up to reveal deep and wavy corridors of stunning red rock.

Fabulous pictures. This canyon has been on my bucket list for a while. Hope to get there next year. Did you have to hike in with a guide or were you able to do it on your own?
At the time, we did it on our own but I hear you’re required to have reservations and a guide now. I won’t lie, the stories about flash floods and slot canyons did make the whole thing a bit eerie.

So pretty! It looks like big globs of meringue! And I know what you mean about resuming blogging. I just gave birth to my first baby in July and I haven’t quite managed to resume my normal blogging routine. It’ll come though. Welcome back!

Thanks, Kara! Will do my best! I’ve missed blogging as well. I have a babysitter coming a few hours a week starting next week, so hopefully it will allow me a bit more creative space (mentally). And I’ll tell Aron you asked about the job–so nice of you! I think it’s going well and I love his hours with Kaiser, personally.
I totally relate to wanting to update your readers on everything that happens. I end up writing these super long posts and then Joe says, why don’t you just chose one of these to write about? ha! I forget readers will pick up wherever you drop them off. A blog is like short stories that way, I suppose. : )

I finally made it to Antelope Canyon this past summer. I’m a native Arizonan and can’t believe it took this long. It is one of the coolest things I’ve seen… right in my backyard!

These are amazing (and beautiful). I would love to go there. One of the default backgrounds that came with my phone is of Antelope Canyon (although I didn’t know it was Antelope Canyon until now). Thanks for sharing these, they will certainly suffice until I can get there in person one day!
