Ideal Summer Sandals

by Ashley on February 20, 2013

army green plus sandals

I know I may be getting ahead of myself, but it was 80 degrees and sunny in Southern California this past Saturday and it got me thinking.

Do you have a fashion image you have pinned on Pinterest and just keep coming back to, over and over again? This one’s mine. There’s something about this combination of cropped, slim army-green pants, tanned feet, and natural leather, gladiator sandals that says summer to me. And it’s what I’d like to be wearing come warmer days. Pretty please.

I think Gap and Jcrew have some pants that might fit the bill. The right sandals, however, can be more elusive. I’ve done some sleuthing…

And then there’s always the surprisingly comfortable, water-resistant (and totally affordable) classic, Salt-Water Sandal

What have I missed?
Or are you not quite ready for sandals? Here are some boots and some rain boots that are slightly more seasonally appropriate.

Note: Most of the above links are through my Luvocracy page. You can read more about the social shopping site in my post, here, but I want to point out that any recommendations made (by anyone–you or me) stand to earn a small commission. Aron and I have both made purchases through the site and have been really happy with it.

This could not be more me right now. I like in Charleston, where it should be warmer than it currently is, and have been craving sandals. I find myself looking at these pair almost every day http://www.madewell.com/madewell_category/SHOESANDBOOTS/sandals/PRDOVR~95760/95760.jsp

Probably should just get them already! Thanks for the great suggestions :)

p.s as for the green pants, my friend just bought these Old Navy ones and they look perfect. Going to have to snag some myself (And they’re a steal!) http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=7520&vid=1&pid=330930002

Thanks for the great pant suggestion! And you should def get the sandals. Madewell does change their selection fairly frequently so you should move!

The Tropezienne: French version of the saltwater! The originals are a bit pricey but you can find ones of all prices anywhere in France as soon as summer hits: http://www.rondini.fr/images/TropBox.JPG

Oh, what a great collection! I just got the hole-punch sandals from Madewell and can’t wait to wear them once the weather warms up here in St. Louis. Thanks for the dreams of spring! ;)

of course i like the most expensive (rag & bone) the best before even knowing they were $$. why is that always the case?

I know! There’s a great photo of Michelle Williams wearing them in black. I pinned it to my fashion board.

I suppose great minds think alike, I spent my son’s nap time pinning images of sandals and spring clothes! In Florida the days are getting warmer as well and it has me looking for the perfect pair of sandals. Love all these finds, I’ve been pining over the Madewell ones.

Also, here’s my ideal summer outfit that I keep coming back to:

Sometimes that’s my favorite way to use Pinterest, to remind me what my style truly is and keep my purchases to things I will actually wear. Does that happen to you?

Yes! And I love that one, too! I really want to master the boyfriend-rolled-jeans look, but I think it takes skinny legs. Mine are a bit more “athletic” and so the requisite jeans seem way too baggy!

Also, totally random, but if anyone is pining for those J Brand cargos, I just checked Ebay and they had a bunch of them for much cheaper!

I have three pairs of Saltwaters and love them! They are so comfortable – I wear them around Disneyland all summer long. This post makes me wish it was summer!

K. Jacques! Homere is similar to the pair in the photo, but there are tons of other versions too.

I highly recommend those Ancient Greek Sandals. I definitely splurged on them, but they’re well worth the money and sooo comfortable!
