Thirty-something

It was my birthday on Tuesday! I can’t believe it’s already been a year since Aron threw me this very sweet Brunch-for-Dinner party—the city still felt so new. He made this adorable invitation.
I can’t believe, by the way, how huge that soda can looks!

This year was full of wonderful surprises, too. After coming home to lots of birthday wishes from friends and family and after finding a yummy butter pecan cupcake from butter lane, Aron treated me to dinner at Craft. We’ve talked about trying this spot ever since we first visited the city together, in May of 2004. He tried to keep our destination a secret as long as possible by taking me on a few detours, but I caught on. The menu: cocktails and wine pairings, foie gras terrine with huckleberries, pork trotter with fried egg, blue prawns with watermelon and cucumber, roasted halibut, corn and bacon risotto, and a sampling of mushrooms. We didn’t make it to dessert, but they brought out some little tartlettes for my birthday. Delicious!

Also delicious? These boots Aron got for me! I adore them. Maybe they’ll help me to overcome end-of-summer blues…
