Summer Streets

Two weekends ago, when we first took Hudson to Central Park, we jumped in a cab (we’re not taking him on the subway yet) and then got stuck in a mess of a traffic jam on First Avenue. It crossed my mind that it was perhaps related to the start of Summer Streets, but I didn’t know for sure until we got home and I checked the website. Had we known, we would have certainly walked along Park Avenue–we were so bummed we missed it.

You might remember, Summer Streets are three Saturdays in the month of August when Park Avenue closes to cars and is overrun by cyclists and pedestrians. It’s such a fantastic summer tradition (if a traffic nightmare).
We had a busy day this past Saturday, including afternoon plans in the Hudson Valley, but didn’t want to miss out. First thing, we fed Hudson and ran out for pastries, and then made our way along Park toward Grand Central Station.
If you’re in town, tomorrow is the last of the three days. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!
Have a great weekend!
