Holiday Windows

by Aron on December 22, 2011

It has become such a favorite  holiday tradition–seeing the windows along 5th avenue–that I’m not sure it would really feel like Christmas without a look (almost like not listening to a favorite Christmas album). I was worried I wouldn’t get to see them this year, and between Hudson’s early bedtime and my new work schedule, it was a challenge. But we found some time on Sunday to sneak a peek. In fact, Hudson slept in the carrier for a record two hours, coming through at the perfect time. The Bergdorf Goodman windows will always be my favorites (their details are as wonderful as their extravagance), but the surprise contender for best display this year was Tiffany’s, who paired intimate, jewel-studded New York holiday scenes with large, carousel frames.

Ashley and I are off to California to visit family. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Thanks for sharing the fabulousness that is NYC for those of us who can’t be there. This post makes me so excited for Christmas. I have to say the Louis Vuitton acrobats are my fave!

I always want to capture the magic of store front windows but never seem to with my camera. You’ve done it perfectly though!

It’s been a while since I have been in NYC in December but you are so right! 5th Ave is a must! So fun seeing what creative things they come up with for the windows. Love going in St. Patrick’s right there too, with it’s big nativity and poinsettias! Have a safe journey out here. Many Christmas blessings to you!

These shots are great! I never have the patience for the fifth avenue crowds during the holiday season so
it’s nice to get glimpse of the displays from my couch!

I love reading your posts about New York, it seems that what they show in the films about NYC lifestyle is not far from being true! I recently read a great guide to NYC over at the CUP OF JO – do you think you would consider doing a similar thing? We are planning a two weeks long holidays in NYC next summer:) – warm greetings from windy and wet Edinburgh – Maggie
