Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and a happy holiday, if you were celebrating!
We made some long overdue changes to the website and–phew!–finally migrated to WordPress. Fingers crossed that there aren’t any problems, but please let us know if you have trouble with anything. I’ll be updating categories and the like over the course of the week. We hope you like the refreshed site!
You’ll notice that we finally set up a Facebook page, and added buttons to follow us on Twitter and Pinterest. And I’m excited about our cleaned-up sidebar. (Thank goodness for our incredibly generous neighbor–an actual web developer, Ben Freda–who helped us link it all up.)
Another big change? I’m bidding farewell to Baby Mine. I had a wonderful time writing Baby Mine, and focusing on pregnancy and kiddos in a space apart from Hither & Thither. But it has become clear that those spaces really aren’t so clearly defined as I might have once tried to imagine them. The division between personal stories I’d tell on Baby Mine and personal stories we’d tell on Hither & Thither started to feel a bit arbitrary (especially when there’s a sweet little baby boy with us at every moment).
So we have added “family” to the scope of Hither & Thither, and I’m giving ourselves permission to post on anything from traveling while pregnant to Hudson’s monthly updates in addition to our usual content. I’m looking forward to making some changes for the new year!
I hope we can look forward together!

Oh goodness, what a beautiful redesign! I’ve been thinking of migrating to wordpress myself but was worried about the transition. I take it you were able to get all your old posts over to wordpress no problem?
Thanks! We had someone migrate everything for us. There are tutorials on the web, but we were too concerned about losing posts or subscribers to take it on ourselves. That said, I know it’s possible and we’re happy so far! Good luck!

LOVE the new look, congrats! Can I ask, what made you switch to wordpress?
Thanks! I was using wordpress on baby mine and found that I really liked the cleaner interface (especially with the thesis theme). That alone wouldn’t have done it, however, because that could be done in blogger. What really pushed me over was how easy it was for me to manipulate photos (esp sizes). I also like the dashboard: I feel like I’m better about replying to comments because of it. Still figuring out all the bells and whistles, though.

Ashely & Aron – The site looks terrific, so clean and crisp. I love how the new format makes the photos really jump out and become a feature, and that photo of the two of you at the top of the page, is so lovely. Congrats on the new site and a fresh and exciting new chapter in the Hither & Thither journey, look forward to following along.
Love the fresh new look. It has a bit of an edge which I think is awesome. I also think it makes complete sense to merge baby mine with h&t. It is hard enough to keep life streamlined and simple, so why spread ourselves out even more! Nice job you guys!
