I’m so excited about the launch of this new online magazine, Kinfolk.
I was invited to contribute to the first volume, and so I got a little sneak-peak. It’s such a beautiful collection. I hope you’ll check it out!
Have a wonderful weekend–hopefully one spent with good friends!

lovely essay! i am in complete agreement, food is a common bond and if all else fails, a great conversation starter. i was lucky to grow up in a family that had dinner together, every night, at the table, no tv. i still cherish mealtime, no matter who i share it with!
Nice.
I was just flipping through it this morning, and it was a happy bonus to stumble across your piece. They did a beautiful job putting it together … interested to see where it goes.
i can't wait until i receive my copy here in belgium, i ordered it last week! xo
nice! cannot wait to get it!
just took a look at the online version- obsessed. it is so beautiful & I adore the Thoreau quotes used throughout- brilliant!
Congratulations. It was a lovely piece of writing and I share your thoughts on the concert of conversation and the method of doing that while sharing a meal – despite being guilty of over-preparation too.
congrats Ashley!

it's fun to see my best friend start this project – i'm curious to see where it goes
loved your musings on the pleasures on conversation over shared meals- it's what kinfolk is all about. beautifully articulated and just a joy to read.
so happy to connect with all these amazing people over this collaboration- just blown away by all the talent and inspiration (and quite humbled to be a part of it myself!) enjoy your weekend, and cheers!
