The store has been open since the thirties. Visiting, however, brought me back to the eighties: hostess cupcakes in my lunch-bag and Bow Wow Wow on the radio.
Have a great weekend!

Retro candy heaven! Me thinks they keep Dentists in business!
It's true–I feel like you could find any long, lost favorite in there!
I'll be in town next weekend, and this looks like it's a must on the itinerary!
Oh, yum! I've never been there, but you can bet I'll be going there the next time I'm in NY.
Candy, Candy, Candy I can't let you go ….
You got some great images from that store! I love the retro vibe in there. I went there last week as well but sadly forgot my wallet at home that day.
Joy of joys this place looks amazing! What an awesome gem to have in your life.
Oooh, I need to go there when I go to NY in December, it looks like my heaven
I will say… there were these specific kind of "fizzy coke bottles" (not the Haribo ones)that my friend Shana and I used to eat (until we were ill) that I look for in every candy store I go into. Have yet to find them, even here. But they did have tons of those huge gobstoppers that we also spent our after-school money on.
Have a great visit, NolaGirl! You'll have to share what you end up doing!
What a fun store! I'd stay in there for hours.
Ahhh! I love it! Bow Wow Wow! LOL!
I love Economy Candy. I used to work around the corner and it was dangerous.
i'll also have candy all the time… yum!

Oh Bow Wow Wow, now that brings back memories, and how wonderful that store has been open that long, the stories it could tell !!!
So great! I collect PEZ and loved seeing the large scale dispensers! I never knew about this place when I lived in the city. I'll have to go there when I visit again! Fun post!
