Aron and I went for a stroll on the High Line recently; it had been a long time since our last visit. Far too long: the season had transformed the pathway once again. In fact, the High Line is also just showing its age. It’s only been one year since the green space opened, and the native grasses and flowers are spilling over the old railway tracks more than ever. It was beautiful–and not too crowded on this particular weekday afternoon; we were reminded that we should climb up and walk the High Line to check out its ever-changing plant scene more often. Bonus: Ginger gelato from the L’arte del Gelato cart currently comes with the view.
Perennial pleasure

so pretty! sometimes I think when you live in a city you make an extra effort to search out the green spots. living in the country, you really take for granted all that is around.
mental note: stop and smell & look at the flowers!
agree with Brigid! I live in Chicago and just experienced a little urban escape in the lily pool in lincoln park.
can't wait to get back to nyc to experience the high line. until then, i will live through your photos.
thanks for posting!

I have been dying to visit the High Line! Last time I was in New York was in January, so it wasn't really so ideal. But when I come back in October it's at the top of my list of things to do!
The high line is a treasure in NYC!
thats the perfect little icecream come… great shots
i love the high line, it's genius. Now, I'm normally a Van Leeuwen mint chip kind of girl but I might have to stray next time I'm there.
Oooh! I've been meaning to try their mint chip–definitely will now. Thanks!
What a perfect day! Lovely photos.
I hope this idea is copied in major cities all over the place.
Ahhh, looks so relaxing. Pretty flowers. Reminds me we should visit our Palace gardens again soon. I always love their gardening………
