Despite a brief bout of snow on Friday, this weekend turned out to be a wonderful departure from winter. Spring was in the air! I was stuck in the hospital all day Saturday, which perhaps made Sunday all the sweeter. The feeling that the weather was doing something special was clearly not just felt by Ashley and me–it seemed that everyone had exchanged their big coats for lighter layers and was out on the streets enjoying.
The streets and parks were packed. I know that more rain and cold are coming so we did our best to enjoy it while it lasted, spending the day walking all over the city.
By the way, we’ve decided we better add a weather label. Laugh as we may at the local news’ obsession with weather, we clearly are no better.

Looks like spring, in Finland we still got a LOT of snow. Heres hoping the weather will only improv towards April (when I´ll take a plane over the Atlantic).
By the way, what kind of camera do you use? I really like the somewhat retro look.

Like the pictures! Love it when spring is in the air! ;P
Can't wait to bask in the warmth of the sun!!!! Glad you enjoyed time outdoors! My finace says I talk about the weather like a 80 year old man – so I know the feeling!
That is funny. i think I have a picture of the same red vintage BMW (love IT!), from Sunday in Red Hook. A couple of Asian guys were driving it around the refurbished docks there by Fairway and looking like they were having fun.
I love spring. I love the little surprises and the appreciation that comes with it. So, to answer your question, my husband and I are in Peru for an internship. He is helping with a NGO that does Mirco-finance. We've been here two months, one more to go, then a month of travel. I am looking forward to traveling afterward! We are going to take a boat down the amazon river, we're going to Cuzco and Machu Pichu, and then we are going to Argentina for two weeks! It's been a dream. We want to travel more after, so I am excited to hear about your travels.
love the pictures by the way. My favorite is the one where you can see the shadow of the woman on the bike. I am glad to see everyone is out and about enjoying the weather!

Oscar–I'll keep my fingers crossed for you (and me, too) that the weather just keeps improving. We're getting nothing but rain this weekend, so it's a bit of crap shoot! Did you see my husband's post about the camera? However, the look you're referring to is done in post-processing. Glad you like it!
Elisabeth, Gry, and Taylor–At least, even if Spring may still be making only periodic, shy appearances, we get to change our clocks again this Sunday!
Ed–That's hilarious! I wonder how many people have photos of the same (transient) thing in the city at any one time. Wasn't it just the best cherry-red?
Rachel–What an amazing opportunity! Will you be posting photos while you move around for that month? I thought your photos from your last wanderings in Peru were beautiful. May bug bites and unwieldy horseback rides pose less of a problem, though!
