Our friend, Nora, is a curator at the Museum of Modern Art. She brought us–and her lovely, soon-to-be niece, Elle–to the opening of the new Gabriel Orozco show last night. “Samurai Tree Invariants,” will be on display along with a general exhibition of Orozco’s work from December 13th through March 1st.

Actually, I thought some of the photography was the most interesting. With mundane, everyday subjects he had managed to show exquisitely rich textures, shapes, and colors.
I was interested to learn that although he doesn’t like to be classified as a Mexican artist, he is the only Mexican-born artist to have a solo show at MoMA since Diego Rivera.
Beyond the art on the walls, MoMA events provide for excellent people watching. There is always a high concentration of lovely people showing off what they believe to be their most interesting fashion.
