The Brooklyn Flea has a new home for the winter

In warmer times, “the flea” can be found in Fort Greene and Dumbo (with the magnificent backdrop of the Brooklyn bridge); when winter comes, it has traditionally moved inside a Dumbo warehouse. But this winter, the market will relocate to One Hanson. It’s a three-month, weekends-only residency, but how amazing is that space!? According to Brownstoner, the Williamsburgh Bank at One Hanson Place has landmark status and has thus had a tough time getting a permanent retailer to settle in. I can’t wait to see it. The winter market will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, from January through the end of March.
The Brooklyn Flea is no secret, Martha Stewart even taped a segment at the Brooklyn Bridge location. (Check out her video here.) We were last there–browsing the food, antique, and craft stalls–on a beautiful fall day in November.

Martha’s video does the market its due justice (and in fact, the entire episode takes a great look at Brooklyn and it’s really worth watching the other clips as well), but we’ll still have to post a photo tour of our own soon–maybe when we visit the new space!
